Hi everyone, I’ve been involved with 501st and Rebel Legion since 2013, officially cleared 501st in 2014 and Rebel Legion in 2016. Over the years it’s become a huge part of my life and my primary hobby, there’s not a lot I would say I am more passionate about. 

Since joining I have held numerous command roles over the years including:

- Rebel Legion Temple Master

- Rebel Legion Detachment PR Officer

Now I am extremely humbled to serve as the 501st Garrison Commanding Officer of Causeway Garrison. It is not a responsibility I take lightly, I see it as a responsibility to all of you, to the charities and communities in N.Ireland and to myself in order to do the best job I can and to uphold the values I believe the 501st and Rebel Legion should stand for.

Through this hobby and this organisation I have met many of my best friends and favourite people in life, least of all I met my darling wife through Star Wars costuming all the way back in 2011 and together we have only deepened our passion for it.

Talking specifically about costumes and trooping, i have a few suits and I love them in different ways. I have a Captain Rex which i dig the look of and like the reaction. I have ‘Kordo’ my Rodian Jedi (and his various off-shoots, Standro the X-wing and of course Greedo) who let me be my best idiot self in public, when life gets hard sometimes all i need is a Kordo troop! But out of everything I have i still love my first the most, my ANH TIE Pilot. Something about the old school OT imperial look combined with the in-universe arrogance of the character entertains me immensely, a jokey trait that is often taken the wrong way by non-TIE pilots! 

Before finding this hobby i was a die hard Star Wars fan already. Growing up i was both an OT and PT fan, when Clone Wars came around it was like the second coming to me. Feel free to engage me on high brow republic politics anytime! My enjoyment of the movies led me to the books and I am huge fan of the old EU but am also open to the new stuff coming out as ‘new canon’. Other Star Wars activities include: collecting Hasbro 3 3/4 (i have a fairly big collection, all loose, I don’t need cards, i wont be re-selling); Star Wars Video Games (i will play anything, quality is a bonus, i have a gap in my experience in 90s Pc games but when it comes to console I have probably played 99%. KOTOR is the best, Rogue Squadron is the most fun, Republic Commando is an underrated gem); I used to play a lot of Star Wars DnD (my gunngan martial artist sucked though...); attending Celebrations (Shannen and I first went to one in Essen in 2013 and so far haven’t missed one).

And by day...... nah, this is a Star Wars Club and my escapism from that 😄
